About the show

Amazing Race has been quoted by many magazines such as Entertainment weekly as the most intelligent reality show on tv. It is a quite different concept as 11 teams of 2 are formed and start from one point in the world. They then have to travel around the world gathering clues and accomplishing tasks that will help them figure out the next destination. In all but 4 rest points, the last team to arrive will be eliminated from the race leaving the others racing for the 1 million dollar prize!!!!!

It is a very interesting show for many reasons. First off for me is that they go to such various places, it's a good way to get to know many of these places, the contestants are often sent to landmark destinations which makes it a good way to dream about visiting those places or just having fun when you have been to those places. Also, one of the main things is that winning this game takes so many different qualities... First off would of course be some luck but being able to pull off the right thing at the right moment, take chances when the opportunity presents itself, use strategy, etc makes it very interesting. And sureley does look as if any team has the potential of winning... There is no secret recipy. Even when some (including me!) would have beleived that good team work was necessary, the third season proved us wrong as Flo and Zach ran into many problems in that area and still managed to win.

I also think that the producers of this show are not looking as much for sensationalism or cheap-tv, they do of course amplify a bit about the competition, grudges between teams, etc, but in my opinion it is done to a very well acceptable level which keeps the level of the show very good!
